Throughout the next several months, the Indiana AFL-CIO will be holding free Voter Registration and Mobilization Trainings around the state. President Obama wrote a message to us today:
"Five years ago today, a few thousand of us gathered in Springfield, Illinois, to launch an improbable campaign for president. The task was to build a grassroots movement capable of making the kind of change we believe in. You've got to see this video about that journey -- it will make you smile. This year it is private sector workers. With large legislative Republican majorities, and tons
of undisclosed corporate cash contributions, they hope to bring “Right to Work” for less
status back to Indiana.
This anti-collective bargaining law exists primarily in old confederate southern states. It was
purged from Indiana during the civil rights era. But now it is back on the right wing agenda.
