"Just one day after Hughes complained about negative advertising, she's released yet another factually inaccurate negative attack ad," said Henry for Mayor campaign manager Justin Schall. "Just like her other ads, this commercial is full of factual mistakes and misleading statements. It's not surprising, since Hughes's hypocrisy has become the defining feature of her campaign,"
Here are the facts on Hughes's misleading new ad:
HUGHES USES WRONG EMPLOYMENT NUMBERS -- AGAIN
In her first ad Hughes overstated Fort Wayne's unemployment by 550% by including job loss figures from surrounding Allen county and Whitley and Wells county. Now she's using the wrong dates -- taking figures from before Mayor Henry was sworn in. As a result of using the wrong dates, the Hughes campaign misrepresents unemployment by nearly double.

HUGHES'S TAX CHARGES "MISREPRESENTS" THE TRUTH, "CROSSES THE LINE" The News-Sentinel's Kevin Leininger detailed how Paula Hughes and the Republican's claim about Henry and the COIT tax are are inaccurate and seriously misrepresent the facts.[1] In his words:
"A certain amount of fact-fudging is expected in politics, but cynically blaming Henry for a tax the GOP not only helped pass but in fact championed crosses the line...power should never be entrusted to people and parties willing to say or do anything in order to achieve it."
