Voter Registration and Mobilization Training - March 3rd!

February 16, 2012

Brothers and Sisters,

After taking it on the chin for the last several months, it's time for us to get up off the mat, dust our selves off and go to work taking back our state.

Unlike Wisconsin, Indiana doesn't have a recall provision in our state constitution, and unlike Ohio we don't have a citizen's veto either that can overturn bad legislation.

But what we do have is our VOTE and our VOICE.

Throughout the next several months, the Indiana AFL-CIO will be holding free Voter Registration and Mobilization Trainings around the state. We encourage you to come learn how to use not only your voice, but your hands and feet to get out into your communities to organize a mobilization effort and help build the grassroots army of voters we need to bring change to the Statehouse!

In the last election, working Hoosiers didn't show up to vote - and because of that sad fact - we allowed the anti-worker forces to take control.  It's time to correct that.

Getting union members and our family, friends and co-workers registered to vote is the first step - but a crucial one. The recent "right to work" battle should serve as a reminder of what happens when union members don't vote.

Join us for one of these training sessions and help ensure that working Hoosiers' voices are restored on Election Day 2012.
